Background of the story
A regular day as usual in the hostel. Started the day by waking up and getting ready to go to college. It is the first day we hear the voice of Ruby. She had entered into our hostel and started running here and there. It was quite unusual thing and everyone was surprised. Day after day she become a member of our hostel and she started attacking the rats in the hostel, insects who come to the hostel. And due to this reason she became a good pet in the eyes of head of hostel. But things change when she became pregnant and gave birth to 4 kittens. Everyone started disliking her and try to avoid her. Since she was very tired a few friends along with me started feeding her. For this reason we were bad at the sight of others. She started vomiting and start making the floor unclean. Later everything was on the head of people who feeded her. And we had taken the consequences of her acts without feeling guilty and used to clean up everything and take care of her.
My friends are right telling that cats inside hostel is not good. Since Ruby and her 4 kittens was staying in one of the study rooms of our hostel. It was difficult for them to study and all these took place during our internal examination. But we can’t be rude to Ruby, as a human I believe that we have the responsibility to took care of them. Sruthy, one of my friend has a very kind heart towards Ruby and her kittens she took care of Ruby and her kittens very well appreciation to her good deeds. Because of these acts we had to pass through a lot of problems.
Later holidays come up and the hostel is going to close and everyone is going home. There come a situation where we have to shift them to a safer side. We had searched for adoption homes, asked many people whether they could adopt or not. But there was no one there. Finally to save the life of kittens and Ruby we decided to take the kittens to home. Otherwise they won’t get food and our head of hostel told us that they will throw away the kittens. There was only a very less time for us to take decision. Two of my friends took 2 kittens each. Special mention to my friends Sangeetha and Athulya for their kind heart. We are helpless to take Ruby along with kittens because they are travelling through bus and Ruby won’t sit inside the box calmly. And everyone told us that she will be okay in a few days, but after 6 days also she is crying for her kittens. When we returned hostel we saw saw her crying all day and night and searching everywhere for her kittens. She is really in a pathetic situation.
If we don’t take the kittens from hostel to a safer side, our head of hostel would throw them somewhere, since the kittens not even opened their eyes. It is very dangerous if we don’t do anything at that time. Due to this reason we had taken the kittens home, hoping Ruby is grown up cat and she will take care of herself when she is gone outside the hostel. If the kittens were also throwed outside, the chances of survival of kittens are very less.
Now Ruby is in such a pathetic situation that she is searching for her kittens and crying all day and night. We thougt of taking Ruby to 2 kittens in Sangeetha’s house but circumstances does not allow us to do so. We are now also asking to many people about adopting Ruby and her kittens. It is possible to unite 2 kittens and Ruby. Remaining 2 kittens are far apart. Looking forward for the kind human heart who can adopt Ruby and her 2 kittens.
